Trader Shot Dead in Muzaffarpur; Business Dispute Suspected

A violent incident occurred on Bazar Samiti Road in Muzaffarpur on Monday when motorcycle-borne criminals fatally shot a trader. The victim, identified as Prabhakar Singh, 42, was targeted near Hanuman Mandir as he was traveling towards Bada Jagannath Chowk.
Assailants on a motorcycle overtook Singh and fired approximately three rounds, striking him in the back and chest. He fell from his bike at the scene. Although rushed to a local hospital in Bairiya, doctors pronounced him dead.
In response to the murder, local residents and businessmen blocked Bazar Samiti Road, protesting the lack of security and demanding the immediate apprehension of the culprits. Prabhakar Singh, a native of Berua village, was known to be involved in the stone chips, sand, and property businesses.
Muzaffarpur SSP Kantesh Kumar Mishra, City SP Mohibullah Ansari, and Town SDPO-II Vinita Sinha visited the location and engaged with the protesters. The SSP confirmed that a special investigation team, led by Town SDPO-II, has been established to investigate the case thoroughly. Efforts are underway to identify the two assailants and determine their escape route by analyzing nearby CCTV footage.
