A three-year manhunt concluded with the arrest of Ramu Singh Tomar, 37, in Gurugram. Tomar is an accused in the May 2023 killings in Lepa village, Morena district, Madhya Pradesh, where six people, three men and three women, were fatally shot during a wedding gathering. This tragic event was reportedly the culmination of a long-standing land dispute and a cycle of revenge.
Previous murders in 2013 involving relatives of Tomar allegedly fueled the retaliation. A case was registered at Sihauniya police station, naming nine individuals as accused. Tomar, who had been living under a false identity and working various jobs across states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Haryana, was apprehended by the Ahmedabad crime branch following a tip-off.
Tomar also faces charges in a 2021 case in Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh, involving attempt to murder and rioting. Authorities are now initiating the process to transfer him to Sihauniya police for further legal proceedings.
