Roommate Strangled Over Dispute: Two Boys Held
21 Mar
Summary
- Two minors, aged 15 and 17, were detained by police.
- The victim, also a minor, was allegedly strangled by his roommates.
- A dispute over an employer complaint or personal matters was the motive.

Two minors, aged 15 and 17, are in custody with DN Nagar Police in Mumbai, accused of killing their 15-year-old roommate. The trio shared a residence in Ganesh Nagar, Andheri (E), and worked together in restaurants.
The tragic incident allegedly occurred when the accused strangled the victim with a cloth. Following the act, the accused reportedly concealed the body for a day, misleading the victim's father into believing he had died by suicide. However, a subsequent post-mortem examination confirmed homicide.
Investigators are exploring two primary motives. One theory suggests the victim had reported issues concerning the accused to their employer, leading to disciplinary action against them. An alternative theory points to a personal dispute, where the younger accused took offense to the victim speaking negatively about a mutual acquaintance.
Both detained boys have been transferred to the Children's Home in Dongri, while the investigation continues into the precise circumstances of the fatal dispute.
