- Bombay High Court directed a probe into the police's actions.

In Mumbai, two sub-inspectors and five individuals, including owners of Khar-based Sparsh Liaison Services, are facing charges for extortion and cyber offenses. This action follows directives from the Bombay High Court, which questioned the Khar police's handling of a complaint filed by two former employees, Subhojit Day and Shashank Pawar.
Day and Pawar alleged that police sub-inspectors Laxman Kakade and Manisha Chougule assisted the company's owner in extorting money from them and fabricating a data theft case. Consequently, both officers were suspended, and a case was registered by the Khar police on Thursday. The allegations suggest the employees were targeted after resigning and planning to start a competing business.
According to the complaint, company management, with police assistance, seized the employees' phones and demanded a large sum of money, threatening harm to their families and false implication. The Bombay High Court has ordered a detailed report within four weeks and directed the transfer of the seized phones to Juhu police in the petitioners' presence.
