Developer Receives Chilling Death Threat with Live Bullet
7 Mar
Summary
- A developer in Mumbai received a handwritten note and live cartridge.
- The threat, demanding Rs 50 crore, is linked to a 12-acre BKC project.
- Police are investigating the recent threat after protection was withdrawn.

A Mumbai developer recently received a concerning threat, finding a live bullet and a handwritten note on his car in Versova. The note, purportedly from gangster Chhota Shakeel's associates, warned of a direct bullet to the chest if a demand for Rs 50 crore was not met. This incident is reportedly linked to a significant 12-acre redevelopment project underway in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).
Authorities are actively investigating the fresh threat, which has gained significance due to its timing shortly after the developer's police protection was withdrawn. The victim claims he has been receiving a series of threats from international numbers since February 2024, following an initial complaint. Despite repeated complaints to the police, no arrests have been made, though officials suspect a deliberate attempt to intimidate the developer by falsely invoking Chhota Shakeel's name and stated they would soon apprehend those responsible.
