Mum Cleared of DUI Blames Health Drink, Admits Drug Driving

A private school mother, Natasha Jansen, who was previously acquitted of drink-driving, has now admitted to flipping her Mercedes while under the influence of drugs. In July 2024, she was stopped outside her children's school with a breath test reading nearly five times the legal limit. Her defence successfully argued that a health tonic and a reflux condition inaccurately elevated her alcohol reading.
Magistrates dismissed the drink-driving charge on August 11, 2025. However, less than three weeks later, on August 29, Jansen crashed her Mercedes into two parked cars in Northbridge, Sydney. She tested positive for THC, the psychoactive compound in cannabis.
Jansen pleaded guilty to negligent driving and driving with an illicit drug in her blood. She refused a breath test at the police station, leading to a charge of failing to submit to a breath analysis. Sentencing is scheduled for next month, with bail conditions prohibiting her from operating any vehicle.
