Patricia Boyer Saintizaire, 38, was sentenced on August 14, 2026, to life in prison without parole for the 2024 murder of her adopted 4-year-old son, Bryan. A jury found her guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse on July 7, 2026. She also received an additional 35 years for aggravated child abuse charges.
Saintizaire was arrested in May 2026 by Polk County deputies after the child's death. Investigations revealed that Bryan had been subjected to severe beatings. Evidence found by the sheriff's office included video footage of Saintizaire hitting Bryan with an object and another recording of her tying the boy's hands and throwing him into a pool.
Bryan began exhibiting 'flu-like' symptoms over a week before his death. On May 1, 2024, his condition worsened significantly, including visible shaking and vomiting. Despite being rushed to the hospital, life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. An autopsy determined the cause of death to be homicide by assault, specifically blunt-force trauma, with multiple layers of injuries indicating severe abuse.
