- She had publicly pleaded with a stalker to leave her alone.
- A man known to her was arrested and is under investigation.

Belinda Nicholls, a 39-year-old mother of three, was found deceased in her Bayswater home on Monday. Homicide detectives arrested a local man, believed to be known to Ms. Nicholls, near the scene shortly after the discovery. The man had not been charged as investigations continued.
Evidence emerged of Ms. Nicholls's fear, with a social media post from August 2024 showing her pleading with a stalker to stop. She described herself online as 'damaged' and having experienced a 'University of Real Life Experience'.
Close friends remember Ms. Nicholls as a devoted mother who adored her three sons and a loyal friend. She was passionate about her Indigenous heritage, often wearing clothing featuring the Aboriginal flag, and had a large Aboriginal flag painted on her garage. Neighbors described her as kind and private, with one recalling hearing a loud noise the night before the discovery.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
