A tragic incident unfolded early Sunday morning in Hayes, west London, when a young mother was fatally stabbed in her home. Kirandeep Kaur, 24, was attacked while sleeping in bed with her husband and their three-month-old baby. Daniel Sean James, 46, is accused of breaking into the home on Uxbridge Road around 7:50 AM BST.
According to the prosecution, James allegedly stabbed another man in his 20s shortly before the fatal home invasion. Kaur's husband reportedly awoke to her scream and saw an intruder leaving the bedroom. She sustained a stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead later that morning. James allegedly fractured both ankles jumping from a window after the attack before being detained by police.
James has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a bladed article. He appeared at the Old Bailey on Thursday via videolink from Wormwood Scrubs. A plea hearing has been scheduled for October 1st, and he remains in custody.
