Summary
- Infant Harleen died from a severe head injury after falling from her mother's lap.
- Post-mortem revealed multiple skull fractures, brain bleeding, and rib fractures.
- The mother, Zara Arsalan, has been charged with murder and denies responsibility.

An infant girl, Harleen, died in West Bromwich on July 24, 2020, following a serious head injury sustained the previous day. Emergency services were called on July 23, 2020, after the baby reportedly fell from her mother's lap and became unresponsive.
Paramedics discovered Harleen had a critical head injury and unstable breathing. She was rushed to the hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries the following day. Subsequent examinations revealed the infant had suffered multiple skull fractures, bleeding on the brain, fractured ribs, and a fractured collar bone.
Her mother, Zara Arsalan, was subsequently charged with murder. Despite the evidence, Arsalan pleaded not guilty to killing her two-month-old daughter. Detective Poole commented that Arsalan had never taken responsibility and repeatedly lied about the events, even when confronted with evidence contradicting her accounts.
