In Dumka district, a case initially presumed to be an accidental drowning has turned into a murder investigation. Police have arrested Doli Kisku, 24, for allegedly killing her 5-year-old son, Aman. His body was discovered in a well near his maternal grandparents' residence on June 21.
Initial suspicions pointed to Aman falling into the well. However, post-mortem results and subsequent interrogations revealed a different story. The child's mother confessed to murdering Aman and placing his body in the well to conceal the crime and make it appear accidental.
Authorities allege the motive stemmed from marital discord. Doli Kisku was reportedly staying at her parental home and refused to return to her husband, Nicholas Kisku. Their argument reportedly escalated to a threat against their son. The mother was taken into custody and has been sent to jail.
