Authorities are actively searching for Morgan Geyser, now 22, who has gone missing from a Madison, Wisconsin group home. Geyser was last seen on November 22, and police were notified of her disappearance the following morning after she removed her Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet. She was reportedly seen with an adult acquaintance.
In 2014, Geyser and her friend Anissa Weier lured their 12-year-old classmate, Payton Leutner, into the woods and stabbed her 19 times. The girls claimed their actions were to appease the fictional character Slender Man. Leutner survived the brutal attack, which occurred in their Milwaukee suburb.
Both Geyser and Weier were tried as adults but were ultimately found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. They were committed to psychiatric facilities, with Weier being released in 2021 and Geyser ordered to a group home in January after demonstrating progress.
