Three people were apprehended by Puramufti police on Wednesday in connection with the killing of Monu. Monu was reportedly abducted and murdered by associates of Nem Singh near Mahilagram ghat in Kaushambi district on August 19. His body was subsequently thrown into the Yamuna river.
During interrogation, Nem Singh, the father-in-law of Monu's brother, and his nephew Puneet admitted to committing the murder. This incident follows a previous dowry death case where Monu's brother and mother were imprisoned.
Family members of the deceased had previously protested at the Puramufti police station, demanding information on Monu's whereabouts. The investigation revealed that Nem Singh was the alleged mastermind behind the murder. The ongoing search for the body continues.
