Summary
- Mother bragged about rally driving before crashing at 80mph.
- Five children were passengers during the dangerous incident.
- One child suffered a spine fracture and required hospitalization.

A mother, Faye Dawson, 50, was sentenced to 14 months in prison after a high-speed crash on March 25th. She was driving at nearly 80mph while under the influence of alcohol and cannabis, with five children in her Vauxhall Corsa. Dawson had bragged about her driving skills, telling passengers, 'I am a rally car driver and a b***h. If you die I am not responsible.'
The court heard how Dawson failed to slow for roundabouts, drove on the wrong side of the road, and narrowly missed parked cars, all while her passengers pleaded with her to stop. Four of the five children, aged 14 and 15, sustained injuries. One suffered a spine fracture and was hospitalized, experiencing terror, flashbacks, and panic attacks.
Dawson pleaded guilty to dangerous driving. Her defense stated she had become a recluse due to PTSD and had no interest in driving again, expressing remorse. The judge noted her "appalling arrogance" and called it a miracle no one was killed, emphasizing the deliberate disregard for road rules and impaired driving.
