Florida Mom Gets Life for Son's Brutal Murder
19 Jan
Summary
- Mother sentenced to life for her 10-year-old son's murder.
- Child died from systematic abuse, including beatings and torture.
- Mom accepted a plea deal to testify against her boyfriend.

Kimberley Leonie Mills, 38, received a life sentence for the murder of her son, 10-year-old Xavier Williams. The child's death on March 21, 2025, followed nearly a month on life support after he was found in cardiac arrest, covered in bruises and burn marks. Authorities ruled his death the direct result of systematic abuse inflicted by Mills and her then-boyfriend, Andre Dwayne Walker.
Evidence revealed the boy had been beaten and tortured. Police discovered items like duct tape and weights allegedly used to restrain and harm him. His younger brother also reported experiencing torment. Mills has agreed to a plea deal, which requires her to testify against Walker, who faces trial later this year for his role in the abuse.
Tavares Police Chief Sarah Coursey described the case as one of the most heartbreaking crimes the community has faced. While no outcome can erase the loss, the plea ensures Mills will spend her life in prison and her cooperation aims to hold Walker accountable. The child's father and extended family supported the resolution.
