Mom Drank Beer, Used Phone While Daughter Drowned

A tragic incident unfolded in Bradenton, Florida, where a four-year-old girl drowned during a pool party on Saturday night. Her mother, Rosette Pierrecius, 32, has been arrested and charged with child neglect resulting in great bodily harm.

Authorities stated that surveillance video captured the child entering the pool unattended at 8:52 p.m. She remained submerged for about nine minutes before another party guest discovered her and pulled her from the water at approximately 9:04 p.m.

When police arrived, no one was performing CPR. Officers initiated the life-saving procedure and transported the child to a hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. Pierrecius was arrested early on Mother's Day.

Investigators indicated that Pierrecius claimed she had left her daughter with two older children. However, the surveillance footage reportedly contradicted this, showing her on her phone and walking around the pool deck instead of supervising.

Pierrecius admitted to consuming six beers and recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.124 percent. The Bradenton Assistant Chief of Police emphasized the seriousness of the negligence and its fatal outcome.

The case is currently under review by the State Attorney's Office, with Pierrecius scheduled for arraignment on June 26.
