A 28-year-old man from Long Beach received a 30-month federal prison sentence on Wednesday. The conviction stems from his possession of a Molotov cocktail during an anti-immigration enforcement protest in downtown Los Angeles on June 8, 2025. Wrackkie Quiogue pleaded guilty to one count of possessing an unregistered destructive device and has been in federal custody since June 2025.
Protests had erupted in early June 2025 following federal immigration enforcement operations in the Los Angeles area. During a demonstration on June 8, 2025, in the Civic Center, law enforcement reported rocks and bottles being thrown. An officer observed Quiogue with a Molotov cocktail and, upon approach, saw him discard the unlit device as he fled. Quiogue was apprehended holding a lighter, according to a Department of Justice release.
