This operation, mandated by the Social Security Minister, prioritizes the safety and rehabilitation of vulnerable youth. The rescued children are currently housed in registered Child Care Institutes, pending identity verification, to guarantee their protection and provide necessary support services.
The District Child Protection Officer highlighted that compelling children into begging is a punishable offense under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Offenders will face strict legal consequences. The Child Welfare Committee chairman suggested DNA testing for parents unable to produce valid identity documents to confirm parentage.
