Summary

In Kalyan, the Government Railway Police (GRP) filed a case against three Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) functionaries on Tuesday. They are accused of unlawfully entering railway property and assaulting a deputy station master at Kalyan railway station. This action stemmed from an incident on Monday where the deputy station master was allegedly attacked.
The alleged assault occurred after a junior woman staffer accused the deputy station master of sustained harassment and sending obscene WhatsApp messages for nearly six months. She reported that despite her initial disregard and complaints to the station master, the alleged harassment persisted.
Frustrated, the woman sought help from MNS functionaries. They accompanied her to the deputy station master's office, confronting him with the alleged messages. The situation escalated, leading to the alleged physical assault by the MNS workers. Kalyan GRP intervened and registered cases based on both the woman's complaint and the MNS members' actions. Investigations, including the examination of WhatsApp messages, are ongoing.
