A man who had been reported missing checked a bag filled with £12,500 of ketamine into a Glasgow city centre hotel. Michael Redmond, 41, handed over the drugs to staff at the Holiday Inn Express on April 28, 2025. The court heard that Redmond had been classified as a high-risk missing person the day prior.
Authorities received information about Redmond's presence in the hotel. CCTV footage confirmed he checked out at 10:50 AM. He had asked staff to store his bag, which officers subsequently searched for information about his location. Inside, they found 500 grams of ketamine. Redmond was arrested later on April 29, 2025, and pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of ketamine, awaiting sentencing.
