Millionaire Drug Dealer Jailed After Reporting Own Burglary

Andrew Savage, 34, a cocaine dealer leading an "extravagant" and "millionaire's" lifestyle, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison. For six years, Savage was estimated to have supplied over £1 million worth of cocaine, funding luxury holidays, designer clothes, and gold. His downfall came when he used his drug operation phone to report a burglary to the police.

Detectives investigating the recovered phones of arrested dealers identified Savage as "Machete," the mastermind behind the operation. Further investigation revealed that the phone used to report the burglary belonged to Savage. When officers visited his home on an unrelated matter in December 2025, they noted his expensive jewelry, raising further suspicions.

Upon his arrest on March 25, 2026, police discovered approximately £21,800 in cash at his residence, along with £500 worth of cocaine. His assets seized included a £96,000 BMW, a £25,000 necklace, and a Rolex watch valued at no less than £50,000. Financial checks showed he had spent nearly £127,000 on first-class travel and luxury goods between January 2023 and April 2026.

Evidence in Savage's bank account indicated over 15,000 payments totaling more than £1 million since 2020, with experts estimating he had distributed around 13.7kg of cocaine. He also dealt in gold bullion. The judge highlighted that the cocaine distributed caused significant "crime and misery," devastating many lives.
