Freezer Wheeling Sparks Murder Trial
3 Jun
Summary
- Surveillance footage showed a freezer moved days after wife's disappearance.
- Husband is charged with murder; wife's body has never been found.
- Neighbor's audio recorded loud bangs on the night of the disappearance.

Larry Millete has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife, Maya Millete, whose body remains undiscovered. Detective Jesse Vicente testified that surveillance footage from January 9, 2021, showed a freezer being loaded into a white SUV belonging to Larry Millete's aunt. This occurred two days after Maya was last seen at their Chula Vista home on January 7, 2021.
Investigators never recorded footage of Maya leaving the residence, and her body has not been found. Audio recorded by a neighbor's system on the night Maya disappeared captured loud bangs around 8:45 p.m. and later that evening. While the FBI analyzed the audio, the source of the sounds remains undetermined. The case continues this week with further testimony.
