Nurse Accused of Stealing Drugs from Patient

Maniya Miller, a 26-year-old licensed practical nurse, has been charged with larceny, falsifying medical records, and illegal possession of a controlled substance. Prosecutors in Michigan allege that Miller stole controlled substances from a patient at a Center Line nursing home during 2024. She is further accused of falsifying medical records to conceal the alleged theft.
Following these allegations, the nursing facility where Miller was employed terminated her position. The facility also alerted local police and the state's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to the incident. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel stated that compromising patient health and safety by stealing medication is unacceptable and her office will prosecute such offenses.
Miller was released on a $5,000 bond. Her next court appearance, a probable cause conference, is scheduled for August 19 at the 37th District Court.
