Maya-Giraldo advertised services similar to Botox on social media, attracting undercover investigators. During an operation, she was found preparing to inject an unapproved Korean product, Toxta, into an undercover officer.
She has been charged with practicing without a license, possessing a prescription drug with intent to sell, and misrepresenting a medical license. Health department records confirmed she does not hold a valid license in Florida. Maya-Giraldo appeared in bond court on Friday and was released on a $5,000 bond, but she is also facing an immigration hold.
