An FBI investigation in Toledo has led to the arrest of three men from Metro Detroit, charged with possessing child pornography. The defendants, identified as a doctor, a lawyer, and a psychotherapist, allegedly exchanged disturbing messages related to child sexual abuse.
Federal complaints detail how Joshua Ronnebaum and Brian Tacon, residing together in Detroit, communicated with an undercover agent about possessing and seeking child pornography. Ronnebaum's seized phone contained over 155 images and videos, along with encrypted messages referencing inviting children over while he worked in Japan.
The third defendant, Lincoln Erickson, a doctor from Farmington Hills currently on probation for domestic violence, had evidence on his phone suggesting plans to travel to Thailand for child abuse. A conviction for possessing child pornography carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years imprisonment, and a grand jury is expected to review the case for potential additional charges.
