Hospital Attack: Man Re-arrested After Five Injured

Following his initial arrest, the man was detained under the Mental Health Act. However, he was later discharged from the hospital. Merseyside Police subsequently re-arrested him on suspicion of attempted wounding, assault, possessing an offensive weapon, and cannabis possession, among other charges. He is currently in police custody.
Det Insp James Rotheram stated that investigations, including a search that uncovered cannabis, continued after the initial arrest.
