A 32-year-old Memphis man, Breon Collins, has been arrested and charged with several offenses, including aggravated rape and kidnapping, following an incident on Christmas Eve 2025. Collins allegedly met the 13-year-old victim through Snapchat, purportedly using the app's location features to find her.
Officers responding to a suspicious vehicle call on December 24, 2025, discovered Collins and the unclothed girl in a car. Collins reportedly evaded arrest by driving away with the girl still inside, later pushing her out before fleeing. The victim identified Collins in a photo lineup, and he was apprehended on January 14, 2026.
During his transfer to a different facility, Collins allegedly attempted to escape custody but was quickly subdued. He is currently held on a $200,000 bond. The Memphis Police Department is advising parents to monitor their children's online activities due to the prevalence of predators on social media.
