She never boarded her planned bus or checked in at the airport. Her last known contact was a social media message sent around midnight on June 20, informing a contact about her intention to hike at Lone Mountain. This message was also the last time she communicated with anyone.
Contarino's sisters, Amy and Lauren, reported their growing fear and panic as they couldn't reach her and the time difference no longer explained the silence. They believe someone might have information regarding her whereabouts. A video of Contarino, filmed days prior to her vanishing outside a petrol station, has recently surfaced online. However, this footage is not thought to be linked to her disappearance.
Authorities have released a missing person's report detailing the events leading up to Contarino's disappearance. She had traveled to Nevada from Melbourne on June 13.
