Police have renewed efforts to solve the 1996 murder of Melanie Hall, offering a £20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Melanie, 25, was last seen at Cadillacs nightclub in Bath on June 9, 1996. Her remains were tragically discovered 13 years later, on October 5, 2009, near the M5 motorway in Gloucestershire.
The investigation, now in its 30th year, is being re-examined with the use of digital tools, including AI, and a comprehensive review of evidence. Detective Chief Inspector Ben Lavender is urging anyone who was in the Bath area or frequented Cadillacs nightclub around the time of Melanie's disappearance to come forward.
Melanie's family has endured immense pain over the past three decades. Authorities are particularly interested in any sightings of Melanie or suspicious activity near the M5 slip road around the time her body was likely dumped. They also seek information about missing items, including Melanie's clothing and jewelry worn that night.
