25 May
Summary
- Worker partially disabled due to severe arm injuries.
- Allegations of excessive restraint during hospital treatment.
- Family complaints filed with Chief Minister and Human Rights Commission.

A medical negligence case has been registered against a private hospital in Kannur, Kerala. The complaint stems from allegations that a 40-year-old timber loading worker suffered severe injuries to both arms, resulting in partial disability.
The worker, Jinesh Jose, was admitted to the hospital on March 1 with fever symptoms. His family claims he was later moved to the ICU and restrained during treatment. They allege he lost consciousness during a week-long stay.
Relatives reported that Mr. Jose was transferred to a Mangaluru hospital while still restrained. Upon arrival, severe wounds were discovered under his armpits, reportedly from the restraints. The family has filed complaints seeking intervention from the Chief Minister and the Human Rights Commission.
Police have commenced an investigation into the alleged negligence. Mr. Jose is currently undergoing Ayurvedic treatment.
