Summary
- Prosecutors allege former assistant destroyed ketamine evidence after Perry's death.
- Assistant is accused of lying to investigators about injecting Perry.
- 'Ketamine Queen' sentenced to 15 years for her role in Perry's death.

Federal prosecutors have accused Kenneth Iwamasa, Matthew Perry's former assistant, of actively destroying evidence after the actor's death in October 2023. According to a recent court filing, Iwamasa allegedly instructed another individual to eliminate ketamine and syringes, and to shred documents and clean digital records. He is also accused of repeatedly lying to investigators, initially denying his role in injecting Perry with ketamine and later claiming the actor had hidden the drug himself.
Prosecutors assert that Iwamasa directed a person identified as "B.M." to dispose of ketamine vials and syringes, and to destroy a prescription document and a note identifying Dr. Salvador Plasencia as a source. While Iwamasa reportedly admitted to "cleaning up the scene" and changing device passwords in a conversation with middleman Erik Fleming, he claimed he was merely following Perry's instructions. Prosecutors are seeking 41 months in prison for Iwamasa, who had previously reached a plea deal in 2024.
These allegations against Iwamasa follow the sentencing of Jasveen Sangha, known as the 'Ketamine Queen,' on April 8, 2026. Sangha received a 15-year prison sentence after admitting to distributing the ketamine believed to have caused Perry's death. She pleaded guilty in September 2025 to charges including maintaining a drug-involved premises and distributing ketamine resulting in death.
