Massage Therapist's Betrayal: Client Sexually Assaulted
8 Mar
Summary
- Woman booked massage to cope with brother's death.
- Therapist offered discount, then assaulted client.
- Perpetrator received life sentence for his crimes.

In June 2020, Danniel Worthen, a trauma therapist, sought a relaxing beauty treatment to cope with the first anniversary of her brother's death. She booked a reflexology session at the Foot Relax Centre in Utah, a place she had visited before.
Upon arrival, she found herself alone with the therapist due to COVID-19 restrictions. He offered her a discount on a full-body massage, which she accepted, having trusted him from previous positive experiences.
During the massage, the therapist's behavior shifted from professional to sexual. After asking for consent in broken English and being repeatedly told 'no,' he proceeded to assault her. The horrifying ordeal lasted for 30 minutes.
Another woman came forward with a similar experience, and a third reported being raped by the same therapist. In August, Hong Guang Ling, 63, was charged for all three cases. He was denied bail, providing Danniel some relief.
In June 2021, Hong Guang Lin was convicted of rape and two counts of forcible sexual abuse and subsequently sentenced to life in prison. Danniel, now a therapist herself, helps others cope with trauma. She and her then-husband Ethan divorced in early 2022, and she has since remarried.
