On October 31, 2025, Marathi film actor Ruchita Jadhav revealed a chilling encounter with Rohit Arya, the man who held 19 people, including 17 children and a senior citizen, hostage inside a Powai acting studio just days earlier.
Jadhav, known for her roles in Marathi films and TV serials, said Arya had contacted her on October 4, introducing himself as a filmmaker and offering her a part in a film about a hostage crisis. Arya continued to message Jadhav for several weeks, and on October 23, he asked if she could meet him at a studio on October 27, 28, or 29. Jadhav agreed to meet on October 28, but due to personal reasons, she cancelled the meeting.
When Jadhav saw the news about the hostage situation on October 31 and recognized Arya's name, she said she was "shaken." "I still can't believe it. I had been in touch with this man who ended up holding children hostage. I thank God and my family for stopping me from going that day," she wrote in an emotional Instagram post.

Jadhav urged other actors and professionals to remain alert while taking up new projects, saying the incident reminded her "how important it is to stay cautious, inform family or friends about meetings, and verify details before trusting anyone."
