A dispute over a repossessed Ford F-150 led to a dangerous confrontation in Miami Gardens on Monday evening. Lawrence Hilbert Morant, 39, was arrested after allegedly pursuing a tow-truck driver who had just hooked up his vehicle.
Morant reportedly became enraged when his truck was taken from his driveway. He aggressively chased after the tow truck, making threats. When the tow-truck driver stopped, Morant confronted him, and subsequently fired his handgun at the moving tow truck multiple times.
The driver escaped unharmed and drove to a nearby Exxon gas station to contact authorities. Morant, however, continued his pursuit and located the driver at the gas station, which was approximately five miles from his home. Police arrived and intervened before further incident could occur. Morant later admitted to firing his weapon at the tow truck.
