Sean Harris, 45, from Bremerton, has entered a plea of not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder. He is accused in the death of Mallory Barbour, 27, of Bothell. Barbour was reported missing last June, and her body, bearing gunshot wounds, was found in a wooded area in Mason County in September.
Authorities arrested Harris at his Bremerton apartment, where Barbour had resided for several months. During their time as roommates, Barbour confided in a former co-worker and friend, identified as Kailyn, about experiencing physical abuse and feeling scared. Kailyn reported seeing bruises on Barbour and noted her attempts to conceal them with makeup.
Harris told investigators that Barbour had returned to the apartment to pay back rent shortly before her disappearance. Friends and former co-workers express a strong desire for justice for Barbour, remembering her as a sweet and loving person.
