A street robbery near Hyderabad's Chevella bus stand took a violent turn, culminating in the death of a 35-year-old man. The victim was allegedly beaten to death by two assailants, K Krishna and Sai, after he threatened to report them to the police for stealing his mobile phone.
Investigators revealed that Krishna, who is reportedly addicted to alcohol, targeted lone commuters for mobile phones and cash. On the night of the incident, Krishna and associates approached the victim, stole his phone, and denied the act. When the victim threatened to involve the police, Krishna allegedly lured him to a nearby dumping yard, promising to help recover the device.
At the dumping yard, Krishna was joined by Sai. An argument erupted when the victim's hand accidentally damaged Sai's mobile phone. Enraged, Krishna and Sai allegedly attacked the victim with sticks, leaving him severely injured. He was discovered dead the following morning. Police have since arrested both Krishna and Sai.
