Man Kills, Dismembers Partner After Rejection

A man, who legally changed his name, has been accused of a brutal murder after his housemate rejected him. The pair had recently begun living together in July, but the victim had made it clear she did not want a relationship. During a drug-fueled assault on July 25, the accused sexually attacked the victim, causing death by strangulation and blunt force trauma. He callously dismembered her body, leaving parts on his mantelpiece and taking indecent images on his phone. The accused later confessed to a friend, stating, "I've killed someone, ring me please." He was apprehended by police the next day for brandishing a knife after stealing from a supermarket, where he then revealed the crime.
