Adedapo Adegbola, 40, has received a life sentence for the murder of Stephanie Irons, 23, at her Nottingham home on October 21, 2025. He will serve a minimum of 25 years. Adegbola stabbed Stephanie, a psychology graduate with ambitions to become a clinical psychologist, after forcing his way into her residence. He fled the scene but later handed himself in.
Colleagues alerted police after Stephanie's concerning messages, leading officers to find her deceased. Investigators noted Adegbola's obsession and bitterness over their relationship's end. He took Stephanie's keys and phone, discarding them along with the murder weapon.
Nottinghamshire Police confirmed a second suspect, Mary Onolunosen, has been charged with assisting an offender and is due in court on March 6. Stephanie's family remembers her as a "bright young star" with an "infectious smile," whose future was tragically cut short.
