- Victim suffered deep head cut in unprovoked assault.

A man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his involvement in a violent street attack. Patrick Wiggins was found guilty of wounding with intent and threatening a person with a blade. The incident occurred in January at Brayford Pool, Lincoln, where Wiggins attacked a woman with a meat cleaver, causing a deep head wound in an unprovoked assault.
Wiggins' accomplice, Kane Lilleyman, assaulted the male victim, causing minor injuries. Both men fled the scene but were subsequently arrested by Lincolnshire Police. Wiggins, 42, received the decade-long sentence at Lincoln Crown Court. Lilleyman, 35, pleaded guilty to affray and received a suspended sentence.
Authorities emphasized the seriousness of the attack, particularly the use of a meat cleaver. The sentence aims to deter others from carrying or using knives and bladed weapons, sending a strong message about the severe consequences of such offenses.
