An investigation is underway in Houston's Third Ward following the discovery of a man's body in a trash can on Sunday. The victim, identified as a 35-year-old male, was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Anita Street.
Authorities received a call reporting shots fired and an attempt to conceal a body. However, the caller could not be located by officers upon their arrival. Following a search of the parking lot, police discovered the man's body inside a trash can and observed blood trails leading to an apartment.
Officers breached the apartment door after the occupant refused to come out and took a person into custody. This individual, along with another person, is currently being interviewed as a person of interest. As of Monday, neither has been charged, and police have not identified any suspects in the fatal incident.
