Police were tipped off about criminals posing as women near the Kanhar River bridge, leading to a raid where the suspects attempted to flee and opened fire.
During the exchange of gunfire, the suspect, identified as Krishna alias Krishnadev Singh, sustained a bullet injury to the leg. His accomplice managed to escape. Singh, a resident of Naudiha, has confessed to his criminal activities. He revealed that he and his associates would stop vehicles on highways and main roads while disguised as women. They would then lure drivers to secluded spots in the jungle or deserted areas before robbing them of cash and valuables at gunpoint.
