In Kota, a 60-year-old man named Anil Goutam died on Friday after attempting to resolve a quarrel between his neighbors in the Mahaveer Nagar police station area. Goutam, along with his wife, had gone to de-escalate a fight between Kamlesh Rathore and Lalit Rathore.
Tragically, the quarreling neighbors allegedly turned their aggression on Goutam, severely beating him. He collapsed at the scene and was taken to New Medical College Hospital, where he was declared deceased. His family, distraught by the incident, staged a protest at the hospital, demanding a murder charge.
The Mahaveer Nagar police have secured the body for a post-mortem examination, scheduled for Saturday. While initial observations suggest no external marks of violence, a case has been registered under section 194 of BNSS to determine the exact cause of death, with further actions contingent on the investigation and autopsy.
