A 30-year-old man from Patelpuri, Meerut, died on Sunday night, November 2, 2025, after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance. His death followed a dispute with his wife, Sneha Gupta, and her family. Shortly after his passing, an eight-minute video emerged, recorded by the deceased, Prabal Kumar Gupta, in which he explicitly named his wife and several of her relatives, attributing his dire condition to them.
The couple had married on November 2, 2025, but experienced marital differences soon after. They had reportedly attended a counseling session at the women's police station on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in an effort to resolve their issues. Prabal left home on his scooter on Sunday, November 2, 2025, and was later found unconscious in the Sadar police station area.
Residents found Prabal and rushed him to Kailashi Hospital. He was later referred to Subharti Hospital due to his critical condition, where he succumbed to poisoning during treatment. Circle officer Daurala Shiv Thakur stated that no formal complaint has been lodged yet, and the police are awaiting the postmortem report. Allegations against police personnel mentioned in the video are also under verification, with a detailed probe ongoing.
Tragically, Prabal's father, Rajiv Gupta, suffered a heart attack upon learning of his son's death and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital.
