Mistaken Identity Fatal Shooting: Man Convicted

A 25-year-old man, Ethan Hallows, has been found guilty of murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Kevin Pokuta, a 19-year-old father. The incident occurred in December 2023 on Page Hall Road, Sheffield, when Mr. Pokuta was mistakenly identified and shot while sitting in his car. Hallows was part of a convoy involved in the event.

Hallows was convicted of murder, conspiracy to rob, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. He fled the UK following the shooting with the assistance of his girlfriend, Paris Askew, but was arrested upon his return in May. Askew was convicted of assisting an offender.

Both Hallows and Askew are scheduled for sentencing on January 23 at Sheffield Crown Court. Previously, Jake Brown, the gunman, received a 36-year sentence after being found guilty of murdering Mr. Pokuta. Three other men and a teenage boy were also convicted of conspiracy to commit robbery.
