Mohammed Durnion, 42, was convicted of the manslaughter of Reanne Coulson on May 21 last year. The trial at Warwick Crown Court heard how Durnion lied to West Midlands Police, denying them entry to his flat shortly after the killing and claiming to be experiencing a mental health crisis. The victim's body was concealed under a mattress in his property.
Weeks later, Durnion directed police to Binley Woods, where he had buried and attempted to burn Coulson's body. This occurred after detectives played him a media appeal from the victim's family. Authorities believe the attack was "brutal and quick," lasting only a few minutes before a neighbor called emergency services.
Durnion admitted to extensive drug use, contributing to his volatile behavior. He was ultimately prompted to reveal Coulson's location by her family's public appeals.
