A man has been charged following an incident involving an acid attack at Crawley railway station. Wade Richards, 24, appeared in court on Wednesday facing multiple charges. These include grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a corrosive substance, and possession of a bladed article.
The attack occurred shortly after 11:20 PM on March 7. The victim, a man in his 30s, was approached by three individuals. One assailant threw a corrosive substance at him, resulting in potentially life-changing chemical burn injuries.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. He continues to recover from the injuries sustained during the assault. Richards, who is from Crawley, has been remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear at Lewes Crown Court on May 7.
