A man has been charged with attempted murder after a severe assault on Durham Street in Elswick, Newcastle, left two individuals with serious injuries. Ross Clancy, aged 39, has been formally charged with two counts of attempted murder, one count of burglary, and one count of theft of a vehicle. He is expected to appear before magistrates soon. Northumbria Police also arrested seven other individuals in connection with the attack; these individuals have since been released on police bail.
The police investigation is ongoing, with a cordon still in place at the scene. Authorities are specifically appealing for information regarding a stolen red Renault Twingo, believed to have been parked in the West End of Newcastle on Friday evening before being discovered in Longbenton on Saturday morning.
