A 48-year-old man has been charged following a shocking incident where he allegedly kicked a dog in the head at a Bunnings car park in Adelaide. South Australia Police arrested the man at a Smithfield address on Monday. He faces charges of ill-treatment of an animal and is scheduled to appear at the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on April 14. Dashcam footage from a motorist reportedly shows the man kicking the dog, prompting outrage from witnesses and the public.
A Bunnings spokesperson stated that the safety and well-being of customers and animals are top priorities, deeming such conduct unacceptable. The company pledged cooperation with authorities if requested.
