29 Oct
Summary
- Victim imprisoned, gagged, and burned with a lighter.
- Eleven ribs broken during brutal assault in his room.
- Attack stemmed from a false accusation over a text message.
In Wrexham, North Wales, a man identified as Jason Leeder endured a horrific ordeal in his own room. Warren Davies falsely accused Mr. Leeder of messaging his partner after Davies used Mr. Leeder's phone to log into Facebook Messenger. This accusation led Davies to lock Mr. Leeder in his room on February 25th.
During the attack, Mr. Leeder was gagged with boxer shorts and a belt, had his arm burned with a lighter, and was repeatedly punched and kicked. He sustained 11 broken ribs, a split lip, and a burn injury. Davies also threatened Mr. Leeder with pliers, causing him to fear for his life.
Mr. Leeder managed to escape to Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Davies, who has a history of 48 previous convictions, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and false imprisonment. He was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison and received a restraining order against Mr. Leeder.
