A man has been arrested in Naini for the murder of a 70-year-old watchman, Hazari Lal. The crime occurred on the intervening night of April 2 and 3. Police apprehended the accused, Ramlal, 66, and recovered the axe used in the fatal assault.
Ramlal confessed that his wife, Anarkali, had been involved in an illicit relationship with Hazari Lal for approximately eight years. Despite Ramlal's warnings to his wife to end the affair, she allegedly continued the relationship. This led Ramlal to plan and execute the murder.
On the night of the murder, Ramlal took an axe to Hazari Lal's residence. He first struck Hazari on the head with the blunt side of the axe, causing him to collapse. Ramlal then proceeded to strike Hazari repeatedly on the face and head, leading to his death.
Following the murder, Hazari Lal's son filed an FIR against an unknown person. A special police team was formed and, utilizing CCTV footage and informers, they identified and apprehended Ramlal. After interrogation, he admitted to the crime.
